After going through a couple brainstorming sessions and looking at all the names sent in, I narrowed it down to a few possibilities. A quick trademark check knocked all but one out, and the winner is FRESH SCIENCE! A version of this was submitted by Denise, so she will be getting a case of beer including three of my recent brews. Thanks Denise! The beer will be ready just in time for the holidays!
Now that I have a name for the Brewery, I’m moving on to the logo. I have a few ideas that I think could work, but just like before, I would love some help! Send me ideas for a logo to go with my company name and if I use your design or a version of it, I’ll give you a case of beer too :-)
I've been busy putting everything together for the brewery, but I finally got around to getting a few more Homebrew kits and trying some new recipes. The Hobgoblin was bottled last Saturday and it looks like it's going to be ready just in time for Thanksgiving! I spent most of the day Sunday brewing up the new batches. All of the new ones should be ready by Christmas. The first batch is a Christmas Brew and has all sorts of extras like cinammon, sweet orange peel, molasses, and ginger. The kitchen smelled great when this was going. Batch number 2 is an IPA with a ridiculous amount of hops in it, so if you're a hophead, you'll love this brew! The last brew was a Pale Ale with a normal amount of hops and light flavor to it that should make it very refreshing.
In other news, I have narrowed the name I want down to a few names and I will be picking a name for the brewery tonight! I'll notify the winner of the contest and they will have a choice of a case of the IPA or a case of the Pale Ale, with one six pack swapped with the Christmas Brew. Keep an eye out because the next contest will begin right away! I will need help designing a logo!
Help me come up with names for my brewery/brewpub!
As I start compiling information for a business plan, I can’t forget the most important part; A catchy name! I’ll be doing plenty of my own brainstorming to come up with something that will grab your eye, but I would love some help. Along with the name, please let me know if you think it should be a brewery or a brewpub and why! Just to clarify, a brewery only brews and sells the beer. A brewpub brews the beer and sells it in its own restaurant with the option to sell outside, but they usually produce less beer.
Any help would be great! Since the company's not started yet, I don't have much to offer. But I want to make it fun so I'm offering a case of whatever I brew this winter to the person who suggests a name I want to use or a name I might want to use a version of. I'll also shout out a Thank You! on the website to you.
In order to have a truly exciting night, I decided it would be great to drink homebrew, make homebrew, and watch the game! Granted, it was the Cowboys vs. the Bills, but holy crap! No one can say that game didn't have an exciting end. All because of homebrew!
I made this beer last year for Thanksgiving and it was such a hit, I decided to do it again! It will be about 6 weeks before I crack a bottle open to try it.
Hobgoblin is strong in roasted malt with a moderate hoppy bitterness and slight fruity character that lasts through to the end. The ruby red coloured Hobgoblin is full-bodied and has a delicious chocolate toffee malt flavour balanced with a rounded moderate bitterness and an overall fruity character.
